Counselling and Wellness Programs - For individuals, couples, families and groups

Individual, couples, family, and group therapy, to the Jewish and non-Jewish community.
JFSA’s Counselling Department provides therapy services through the West Coast Wellness Group. The staff is made up of well-qualified registered therapists with degrees in counselling, social work and related disciplines. Offers individual, couples, family and group therapy. Also offers services to the Jewish and non-Jewish communities. Counselling Services include:
  • Therapy (youth, adults, seniors, couples, families): Offers services in resolving concerns such as anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties.
  • Mental Health Outreach: Provides mental health assessments, cognitive behaviour therapy, advocacy, reintegration programs, and accompaniment to social activities for those individuals living with persistent mental health concerns
  • Youth & Family At-Risk Outreach: Program focuses on identifying and preventing at-risk behaviours such as alcohol and drug misuse, unsafe sexual practices, unplanned pregnancy, violence, bullying, eating disorders, depression and anxiety.
  • Low-Cost Counselling Service: Provides low-cost counselling service for those who need to access therapy and are unable to afford subsidized programs. Addresses a range of concerns including Depression, Anxiety, Loss, Bereavement, Relationship or Family Issues, Personal Growth and Wellness, Health-related concerns, Trauma, and Stress.
  • Seniors Outreach Counselling: This program is for seniors 65+ who are living with a fixed income and would like one-to-one counselling either in their homes or in our offices.
  • Community Counselling: Free counselling is available to community members in need of support offered by intern students. Students will be supervised by experienced JFS counsellors.

Hours: Hours are variable
Referral: No referral is necessary
Cost: Regular program $30-$110 is set during the intake and is based upon client income from their notice of assessment.

To see a Registered Clinical Counsellor the minimum fee for the sessions is $30 (the fee depends on the client's income) and the client will have 12 sessions.

To see a student intern is free of charge (students are one step away from being RCC and work under supervision).
